
BEAN 1500 Year Old Cave
Phaseolus vulgaris
Beautiful maroon and white seeds with mottled, splotched patterns. Ancestor of the Anasazi bean this vigorous pole variety has tasty slender green pods and is also used as a dry bean. Found in a cave in New Mexico and carbon dated to 1500 years. It has a rich nutty flavour and is great in soups and stews or as refried beans.
