BEET Chioggia
Beta vulgaris
An heirloom beet named after a fishing village in Italy. Known as the candy striped beet because of its alternating red and white concentric rings this delicious beet is great used raw grated into salads. It will retain its markings if baked whole and sliced just before serving. Abundant green tops are also great steamed.
