BEET Winter Keeper/Lutz
Beta vulgaris
A great winter beet growing large without getting woody while staying sweet and tender. Produces greens in cold weather and keeps well in the garden until March. The deep red slightly tapered roots are smooth and glossy. Can be grown all season but for winter sow in early July for beets all winter long in the Pacific Northwest.
