Cucurbita maxima
A variety of kabocha a buttercup type squash without the button, dark-green skin and flat round shape deep orange flesh is rich, medium-dry and sweet. The fruits average 1 – 3 lbs with many squash produced on long vines. This early fruiting, easy to grow variety stores well for the winter. Originally bred by Johnny’s Selected Seeds.
