BEAN Fortex
Phaseolus vulgaris
A French pole bean with extra-long, round, stringless pods which grow over 10” and still stay tender and have a sweet, rich flavour. They can also be picked as small fillet beans when 6”-7” long for farmer’s markets or restaurant sales. Scrumptious when fresh and can also be frozen for a winter treat. The walnut brown seeds make a vigorous climber that needs trellising.
