LIMA BEAN Henderson
Phaseolus lunatus
An old favorite introduced in 1888 by Peter Henderson and Co., a buttery baby lima, slightly curved dark green pods, 3-4 green seeds per pod that dry a creamy white. Grows well in the cool Pacific Northwest, bearing until frost with a delicious flavour and a drought tolerance. Found growing on the Virginia roadside by a soldier returning home from the Civil War.
