An heirloom bush bean of ancient origin, sometimes called Trout Bean, possibly developed in Virginia by Jacob Trout, with burgundy speckled markings on a white kidney-shaped bean that is popular in New England and other cool short season areas. Superb for baking, soups and stews with a delicious flavour and texture.
