Cucurbita maxima
Once a staple variety of the Lakota Sioux nation this Hubbard type squash has a bright orange flesh and delicious and enticingly sweet nutty flavour. Mid sized fruits have bright orange skin with dark green splotches. The pear shaped fruit have excellent storage qualities and smooth golden flesh. Great for roasting and soups.
