PEPPER Onza
Capsicum annuum
This very rare chile is brick red, tapered and measuring about 3” long and ½” across. Fruit is thin fleshed, slightly sweet and also slightly acidic, with flavours of carrot and tomato. It has a crisp heat noticeable at the back of the throat. It develops its flavour after turning red and is used both fresh and dried in sauces and soups.
