POPPY Single Red
Papaver somniferum
Annual: Old variety with single red flowers containing a black splotch at the base of each petal. Easy to grow, self seeds in the garden each year. Plant in early spring, grows 2’ to 3’ tall with grayish green leaves, lobed and elliptical with serrated edges. The seed heads are beautiful in dried arrangements and the petals can be used as a red dye.
