POPPY Single Purple
Papaver somniferum
Annual: Old variety with single purple flowers containing a black splotch at the base of each petal. Easy to grow, self seeds in the garden each year. Plant in early spring, grows 2’ to 3’ tall with grayish green leaves, lobed and elliptical with serrated edges. The seed heads are beautiful in dried arrangements and the seeds are also great in baking.
