LETTUCE Reine des Glaces
Lactuca sativa
A beautiful French heirloom, whose name means ‘Queen of the Ice’, this iceberg type lettuce has a large crisp head. The dark green wrapper leaves are sharply serrated at the edge for an unusual display. The thick leaves are tender and delicious, making for a crisp, scrumptious salad. Longer to mature than some lettuces but worth the wait, thrives in cold weather.
