PEPPER Rocoto Naranjo
Capsicum pubescens
The center of origin for this species was Bolivia and it is one of the oldest domesticated plants in the Americas. This species is the only black seeded pepper and is extremely hot. The plant grows from 2’- 4’ high with green, very pubescent leaves (hairy) and has beautiful purple flowers. The fruits are round and thick fleshed, green turning to orange when mature and ripe.
