PEAS Sugar Snap
Pisum sativum var. sativum
This 1979 AAS winner has thick, round, succulent pods that can be eaten whole like snap beans. Great eating cooked or raw with the best sweet, crunchy taste. The vines grow 4′-6’ tall and need staking as pods are heavy. The plants are frost resistant and pea wilt tolerant. Freezes well but cannot stand the heat of canning.
