PEPPER Trinidad Scorpion
Capsicum chinense
This old variety from the Moruga district in Trinidad is very hot. In 2012 it attained the record for the hottest pepper in the world registering one to two million Scoville Heat Units. The fruit looks blistered and is a similar shape and size to the habanero. The crumpled, lantern shaped fruit have a citrusy, fresh taste ripening green to bright red.
