Phaseolus vulgaris
A rare heirloom from New England, small round deep burgundy pole dry beans which look like a small version of the berries they are named after. An early pole dry bean producing many filled pods. One of the staples of the woodsmen of past eras. Excellent flavour, great in chili, traditional baked beans, stews or soups.
