This heirloom bean is very prolific and quite versatile can be used as a fresh snap when young, also as a purple shelling when mature or as a quick cooking dry bean for winter. Larger than other black beans with a rich flavor and creamy texture. First pods form early, 6” long on 14’- 16” plants.
